Ninja is the result of a special frozen breeding of Rick and Louise Robert’s wonderful dog “Dare” to my accomplished “Oli”. “Ninja” named herself in the puppy pen, by regularly springing to action from a dead sleep. She still entertains the field judges with her pounce, when she gets to a bird in the field.
In 2021, Ninja was #1 Junior Field Trial Dog in BC and #3 in Canada. Not bad for entering my first Junior FT just to help the local club out with numbers! She came in 2nd that trial, and then I figured why not enter some more. She won the next two, earning her JFTR in three trials. At four years old, she has her Utility Dog title (Canadian OTCH) and she only needs one "pair" to finish her MOTCH title. She currently has 20 CKC Master Hunter passes and 530 HRC Points, and her HRC Upland Championship title.
Ninja is my fourth GMH~OTCH/MOTCH Owner/Trainer/Handled Golden, and the third generation of my girls. She is a joy to train and to live with, and I believe her to be everything a Golden Retriever should be - a competitive working dog, beautiful to look at and a wonderful, beloved family pet.

Morley was my amazing obedience dog. In November 2021, we finished her CDX title, and I moved her up to Utility. The next trials were in March; she finished her UD. Then we started double entering and working on her MOTCH. Morley went from CDX to MOTCH…in four trial weekends! I was SO proud of her. She LOVED obedience and she was naturally precise. My nickname for her in the ring was “Sparky”, because she was so joyful.
In 2022, Morley was #7 Top Obedience Dog, #5 Top Obedience Sporting Dog and #4 Golden Retriever in Obedience, in Canada. What makes this Top 10 placement so special, is that we were dealing with a significant health issue that year, limiting traveling to trials. We had many baubles and NQ’s because Morley wasn’t feeling well, and yet she still finished 7th in the country. That is a testament to her talent and her love for Obedience.
Morley was bred to be my next field dog…but she had other plans. She is a stellar upland hunting dog, but hunt tests were not her “thing”. She earned two Master Hunter legs, but I decided to focus on what she enjoyed most, obedience. She is now retired from competition.

Oli is the result of the breeding of my field-bred girl “Keener", to Leanne Tucker’s “Puzzle”, the first litter for both. This was my first co-bred litter with Joanne and Laureen Kinney of Zaniri Golden Retrievers. Although I had planned keep a male, Oli was a standout in the litter, so at the last minute, I changed my mind and kept “Olive”.
Oli showed her promise early, earning her WC and JH very quickly after turning six months old. She finished her Master Hunter title at 2 ½, something I could never have imagined. Finishing her show championship took some time, and I often thought of giving up. Thanks to the support of others, who saw her attributes, I stuck it out and finished her myself. The support I received from other conformation handlers was very special to me. Oli earned 1145 HRC points (Finished pass = 15 pts, Upland pass = 10 pts). A highlight of Oli's “career” is finishing the Canadian National Master test in 2019 AND 2023, at almost 11 years old. In 2024, she won the coveted Nan Gordon Memorial Trophy at the GRCC National, at 11 ½ years young. She qualified in the WCX, passed both Utility B and Open 18B and won the Veteran 11+ Bitch class. Oli was thrilled to be at the line and in the ring again! This girl still loves to work.
Oli set the bar for me, for breeding conformationally correct Goldens, that can compete at a high level in Obedience and Field and are easy to live with. As her breeder/owner/trainer/handler, I could not be more proud of this wonderful Golden, who has been a dream come true. Going to the line or into a ring with Oli, is such a gift. She is my heart and soul. I’m SO thankful I went with my gut, almost twelve years ago, and kept the girl. THIS girl!
